IRVING, Texas – Conference USA hosted its annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meetings July 26-28 at the Baylor Scott & White Sports Performance Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The league's 14 representatives and FAR liaisons participated in team-building activities and deliberated on official SAAC business throughout their stay. Complete Release (PDF) C-USA SAAC representatives discussed numerous hot topics affecting collegiate athletics from mental health and domestic violence awareness to personal branding on social media. Participants also completed a DiSC Workplace Assessment and engaged in a leadership panel with top executives around the DFW Metroplex. The conference's SAAC representatives also set apart time to give back to the community and visited the National Breast Cancer Foundation to prepare Hope Kits for patients. "The C-USA SAAC meetings were a great learning experience for our student-athletes and motivation to kick off the 2018-19 academic year strong," C-USA Director of Compliance and Academics Scott Hays said. "The SAAC members really engaged and embraced their roles as representatives of their universities. We are proud of all they were able to accomplish during these meetings."
