No. 25 Old Dominion Travels to No. 2 Indiana for NCAA Second Round

Mueller Inks Three Highly Touted Players From Three Different Countries

Old Dominion men's tennis head coach Dominik Mueller announced the addition Oliver Tobisch (Roedermark, Germany), Luca Maldoner (Innsbruck, Austria) and Bradley Mittleman (Leawood, Kansas) on Friday afternoon, which will be added to the Monarchs roster beginning in the 2018-19 season.

Jackson Nets Career High in Loss at George Mason

Ashley Jackson scored a career-high 18 points, but the Old Dominion women's basketball team fell at George Mason, 66-53, in a Preseason WNIT consolation game on Friday afternoon at EagleBank Arena.

No. 25 ODU Blanks NC State, 2-0 in NCAA Championship First Round

NORFOLK, Va. The No. 25 Old Dominion (13-5-2) men's soccer team shutout NC State (8-6-4) on Thursday night at the ODU Soccer Complex, 2-0. Goals by Brandon Perdue and Max Wilschrey directed the Monarchs to their victory over NC State. The Monarchs will now move onto the second round of the NCAA Championship and travel to Indiana to take on the Hoosiers (15-0-5) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Monarchs Second Half Rally Falls Short in 76-65 Loss to Temple

CHARLESTON, S.C. The Old Dominion men's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 C-USA) dropped its first game of the season by a 76-65 score to Temple (1-0, 0-0 AAC) in the Quarterfinals of the Gildan Charleston Classic on Thursday afternoon on John Kresse Court at TD Arena.

Monarchs Set to Wrestle at Navy Classic

Wrestling Solidifies 2018 Recruiting Class with One More Student-Athlete from the State of Illinois

NORFOLK, Va. - It was announced on Thursday morning by head wrestling coach Steve Martin the addition of Timothy Young of Aurora, Illinois. This will be the fifth student-athlete added from the power-state of Illinois. The total count of Illinois natives on the Old Dominion squad will be 11 for the 2018-2019 season.

Ximines Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

NORFOLK, Va. Old Dominion University redshirt junior defensive end Oshane Ximines was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, CoSIDA announced on Thursday. A native of Ahoskie, North Carolina, Ximines has started all 10 games for the Monarchs at defensive end this season. He has a team-best six sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss, and 34 tackles. He also has three forced fumbles and seven quarterback hurries. Ximines posts a 3.5 grade point average and is majoring in finance. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

Several Events Scheduled for Saturday's Military Appreciation Game

NORFOLK, Va. The Old Dominion University Football game on Saturday against Rice will not only be the 68th Oyster Bowl game, but also the Military Appreciation Game. Prior to the national anthem, at approximately 1:45pm, a two-plane flyover will take place. First, a World War II era AD-4 Skyraider, that flew out of Chambers Field will pass over, followed by a modern day Grumman C-2A Greyhound that is currently stationed at Chambers Field from Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 40 (VRC-40). One of the members of the C-2A squadron that will be performing the flyover is Alexander Shaw, the step-father of ODU offensive lineman, Eric Magwood. The executive officer of Naval Station Norfolk, Captain Bradley Rosen, will be present at the game and will be recognized on the field during halftime as part of the Marching Monarch's halftime show. He will be presented with a jersey patch worn by the team during the game and a game ball signed by Coach Wilder. The ODU Joint ROTC Choir will perform God Bless America on the field during the third Quarter Break. The team will wear a jersey patch during the game of the Naval Station's centennial logo to honor this milestone. As part of Military Appreciation Day, ODU will be celebrating the centennial anniversary of Naval Station Norfolk, the largest U.S. Navy installation in the world, located just minutes from the ODU campus. The City of Norfolk has hosted more than 30 events over the course of this year to celebrate the anniversary. More than 25 percent of the ODU student body is military-affiliated and more than 2,000 ODU students have served or are currently serving in the military.

The Bobby Wilder Coach's Show will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Wild Wing Cafe in Chesapeake at 7 p.m. Hosted by Ted Alexander, the voice of ODU athletics, the show is carried live on ESPN Radio 94.1 in Norfolk, Lynchburg affiliates WLVA 94.1 and Fox Sports 580, WNTW 820 AM and 97.7 FM The Answer in the Richmond market.
