For the third time this season, Old Dominion guard Ajah Wayne has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, as announced by league officials on Monday.
"We fought so hard as a team today," said ODU head coach Dominic Manilla. "I was so proud of everyone. When we secured the fourth point and we all came together, the feelings we shared as a team is something I'll never forget. We have a tough schedule ahead of us. We will use this victory as motivation to keep moving forward and to keep getting better."

The Old Dominion men's basketball team (20-6, 10-3 C-USA) defeated Middle Tennessee (8-17, 6-7 C-USA) for the first time in school history by a 55-50 score on Saturday night at the Murphy Center. With the win, the Monarchs remain in first place in league play. ODU has now won four straight, nine of its last 10 and 18 of its last 21 games. Old Dominion has won 20 or more games in four of its past five seasons.
The Old Dominion (8-5, 5-2 MAC) wrestling team is set to take on the Naval Academy (5-2, 3-1 Conf.) on Monday Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center for their Championship Effort match.
