NORFOLK, Va. - Holly Hutchinson of the Old Dominion women's tennis team was named the Conference USA Athlete of the Week, as announced by league officials on Wednesday. This is the third time this season Hutchinson has claimed the award.
The 2018 Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship begins tomorrow, April 19, on the campus of Old Dominion with 12 of the 14 teams in action. The four-day event will open with six first-round matches on Thursday starting at 9:00 a.m. EST. Admission for all is free.
The No. 47 nationally ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team (17-4) downed No. 42 William & Mary (13-9) by a 6-1 score on Friday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. Friday's match marked the end of the regular season and Senior Day for Adriana Rajkovic and Victoria Olivarez. ODU clinched the victory over the Tribe with a 4-0 score, but played out the remaining singles matches.
NORFOLK, Va. - A total of 286 student athletes from all of Old Dominion University's athletic teams, the highest number of any league member, have earned recognition to the Commissioner's Honor Roll during the 2017-18 academic year, Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced today. Student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. This is the fourth year in a row that ODU placed the highest number of total athletes on the honor roll. In all, 2,824 total student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll from the 14 C-USA member institutions.
