Fan Information regarding fall 2008 football scrimmages
The new ODU Monarch football team will host three scrimmages this fall that are open to the public on Sept. 27, Oct. 25 and Nov. 22. The scrimmages will be held at the Powhatan High School complex at the corner of 43rd and Powhatan Ave in Norfolk. Seating is limited and not guaranteed, and fans will be admitted on a first come basis.
Parking will be available in Lot 43 adjacent to the field, the surface lots parallel to 43rd street between Elkhorn Avenue and Powhatan Ave, and the parking decks on campus. Lot 43 will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, with gates and stadium concessions opening at 4:30 for the 6 p.m. scrimmage. To ensure the safety and positive experience of our fans, Old Dominion will enforce the following rules and code of conduct:
1) No coolers, backpacks, bottles, cans, containers or outside food and drink will be allowed in the stadium.
2) Small portable grills will be permitted in the surface parking lots ONLY within designated parking spaces; not in the parking decks.
3) Fans are asked to dispose of their own trash from the parking lots in the trash receptacles.
4) Picnics will be permissible, not to extend beyond fans' individual parking spaces. No large tents will be permitted. Old Dominion asks its fans to refrain from the drinking and serving of alcoholic beverages in the parking lots for the Sept. 27 scrimmage and is exploring controlled hospitality areas for the scrimmages on Oct. 25 and Nov. 22.
