NORFOLK, Va. -- ODU head coach Bobby Wilder was quite pleased with Wednesday afternoon's practice after his players showed a lot of energy or what he likes to call "the juice".

The Monarchs had one team drill on the docket Wednesday and spent the rest of the time working on individuals again including reviewing routes with the wide receivers and tight ends, blitz review for the running backs, formation drills with defensive unit, and the o-line working on drills for the upcoming first opponent in Jacksonville.

During the team segment, the Monarchs worked all the zones - backed out, midfield, and redzone.

"We got all the areas covered with different downs and distance," said Wilder.

During special teams, the Monarchs worked on the Bust Out drill. That segment put ODU at the last play of the game, right after the other team had just scored to go ahead in the game. In order to win the drill, the Monarchs had to return the kick for a touchdown to win with only seconds remaining in the contest.

"We covered a lot of different areas today and really did well as a team," mentioned Wilder at the end of Wednesday's workouts.
