12th Monarchs,

Thank you all for joining our team on this incredible ride that was our regular season. We could not have been 9-2 this season without the tremendous support, home and away, from the 12th Monarchs. We felt your energy in all six home games, as well as destinations such as Williamsburg, Philadelphia, Kingston, Newark, and Atlanta.

Our team is incredibly grateful from the support we receive every time we step on the football field. Our team appreciates the fact we have the best fans in the country!

As I send you this note our team is hard at work in school. Our players have five days off from practice to heal their bodies and prepare for the national championship tournament. Our coaches are on the road recruiting future Monarchs for our program. We will practice Thursday and Friday and anxiously await the announcement on ESPNU Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. Once we find out who we play, we will focus all of our energies on preparing to win that game.

Our focus all season long has been on the next opponent. Our team has done a good job of playing as hard as they can for four quarters every Saturday. I believe that is the #1 reason why we are 6-2 this season in games decided in the 4th quarter.

We will carry our "In It To Win It" motto into the playoffs. Our goal as a program will be to play for and win the national championship. We realize this is a very lofty goal. As I tell our players all the time, anything you do in life you always need to strive to be the very best.

In closing, words cannot express what a tremendous honor we feel in representing Old Dominion University in the community, the classroom, and on the football field. We always have an "attitude of gratitude" in everything we do as a team. We are grateful to our leadership, President Broderick and Dr. Selig for allowing our team the opportunity to play and coach the game we love.

We are honored to represent you and I am honored to be your coach.

Aim High,

- Coach Wilder
