Norfolk, Va. – A search for the official “voice” of the Monarchs has begun, as ODU Sports Properties and the Old Dominion University athletic department announced today that they are accepting applications for the positions of radio play by play announcer, color analyst, and sideline reporter for the Monarchs inaugural football season.

The football play by play position will also include hosting the weekly football call - in shows, as well as serve as play by play for men’s basketball games and show host.

“We are excited about identifying a voice for our program that our fans and the community will hear and immediately associate with ODU,” says Debbie White, senior associate athletic director.

The positions are all part-time and will serve as independent contractors with CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, the multimedia rights partner with Old Dominion. Applications are being accepted by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (www.staatalent.com)  and candidates are asked to electronically submit a cover letter, resume, one football mp3, and one basketball mp3 to Jon Chelesnik at jon@staalent.com.  Applications will be accepted through April 17.
