Sollenberger Selected Freshman All-American

NORFOLK, VA. (June 10) - Old Dominion University freshman outfielder Brent Sollenberger (Chambersburg, PA.) has been selected Honorable Mention Freshman All-American by COLLEGIATE BASEBALL. Sollenberger is the ninth Monarch newcomer to earn this honor since 1985.

Sollenberger hit .303 for the Monarchs this year while playing rightfield. He also played ten games at second base. Sollenberger knocked in 39 runs and scored 49 times which was fourth best on the team. He hit .364 in the CAA Tournament and .337 in 21 regular season CAA games. His fielding percentage was .970.

Old Dominion was 33-24-1 this season, tied for first in the CAA regular season (14-7) and earned the top seed in the league tournament. The Monarchs earned an at-large bid to the NCAA, their fifth bid since 1990.
