Baseball Monarchs Sign Negrini and Yarbrough To NLI's

NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University head Baseball Coach Chris Finwood announced today the signing of shortstop Jordan Negrini ( Kihei, HI) of Yavapai Junior College and lefthanded pitcher Ryan Yarbrough (Lakeland, Fl.) from Santa Fe College to national letters of intent for the 2012-13 season.

Yarbrough is 6-5 and currently has a 8-1 record with a 2.15 earned run average for Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL. Santa Fe is currently 36-11 on the season.

At All Saints High School, in Lakeland, Fl. Yarbrough tied the school's single season record for wins and earned All-Star honors as a senior. He is the son of John and Pam Yarbrough.

Negrini is currently hitting .375 with 20 doubles,53 runs scored,46 RBI and 13 stolen bases. He has a .469 on base percentage for Yavapia junior college in Prescott, AZ. Last year, he saw action in 46 games for the Roughriders, hitting .319 with nine stolen bases.Negrini was a three-year starting shortstop at H.P. Baldwin High School in Wailuku, HI where he was team captain and MIL All-League selection for head coach Jon Viela. In 2010 he helped lead Baldwin to the Hawaii State Tournament where they placed second.Jordan represented Hawaii in the Japan Goodwill High school Federation in in 2009 was one of 18 players selected from the state to travel to Japan and play against schools all across Japan. He is the son of Allen and Brenda Negrini.
