Monarchs Move Up In All Polls, Begin CAA Play This Weekend

NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Monarchs (5-1)winners of five straight moved up in all four soccer polls. The Monarchs rank 10th in COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS, 13th in the coaches NSCAA/adidas, 18th in SOCCER AMERICA and 22 in SOCCER TIMES.

ODU begins CAA play this weekend with Delaware (2-0-2) friday night at 7 p.m. and Drexel (4-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Senior Edson Elcock ranks seventh in the CAA in points with seven while Gregg Mottinger is tied for fifth in the league with two assists. Freshman keeeper Evan Newton has posted four straight shutouts ranks fourth in the CAA with a 0.82 goals against average and sixth in save percentage at .800.

Delaware is led in scoring by Sobhan Tadjalli with three goals, while Drexel's top scorer is Fabio Assumpcao also with three goals this season.
