IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion senior rower Maeghan Pardy was named to the 2013 Conference USA Rowing All-Academic team, as announced by C-USA officials on Thursday afternoon. A total of nineteen student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team and all 11 C-USA rowing members placed representatives on this year's squad.

The C-USA All-Academic Rowing Team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key contributor to their team as a sophomore class standing or higher. This year's squad each compiled a GPA of 3.5 or better, averaging an impressive 3.88.

Old Dominion senior Maeghan Pardy has compiled a 4.00 GPA as a psychology major with a French minor. The Ontario, Canada native ended her Lady Monarch career undefeated at home. She was also ODU's 2013 recipient of the Jack Wilkins/James Howard Scholar Athlete of the Year award, as well as the ODU Alumni Association's MVP for rowing for the second consecutive season.

This year, Pardy earned a C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal for the 2012-13 academic year (cumulative G.P.A.: 3.75+). Maeghan has been a member of the Dean’s List seven times throughout her college career.

Pardy contributed to the Lady Monarchs’ 13 second victory in the Varsity 8 race against UNC to kick off the 2013 spring season. Her boat then placed second in the Petite Final of the Varsity 8 race at the San Diego Crew Classic. Maeghan was part of the boat that won gold in the Third Final in the Varsity 8 by five seconds at the Knecht Cup. Two weekends ago, Pardy’s Varsity 8 boat defeated SMU in Miami, Fla.

The 2013 C-USA Rowing Championship will take place Saturday, May 18 at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. For coverage and updates on the Championship, visit: C-USA Women's Rowing Championship Central.
