Old Dominion Welcomes Bowie State For Final Exhibition

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion is set to host Bowie State in its exhibition finale as the Lady Monarchs prepare for their regular season opener this Sunday against Georgia Tech. The contest is set to get underway at 7 p.m. as ODU welcomes the visiting Lady Bulldogs to the Ted Constant Center.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM with play-by-play from Tony Mercurio and color analysis from Susan Montgomery.

In Old Dominion's first exhibition, junior Tia Lewis led the way for the Lady Monarchs with 20 points and 23 rebounds in a 82-56 win over Davis & Elkins. Senior Jasmine Parker posted 16 points and sophomore Jackie Cook contributed 13 in the win. ODU dominated the boards, holding a 67-29 edge.

Bowie State was picked to finish second in the NCAA Division II Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Northern Division, just behind Virginia State. The Lady Bulldogs finished 18-8 overall (15-5 CIAA), first in the Eastern Division of the CIAA and were league tournament runners-up last season.

Old Dominion will open up the regular season at home on Sunday, Nov. 14 against Atlantic Coast Conference foe Georgia Tech. That game is set to tip at 2 p.m. from the Constant Center.
