NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion senior rower Maeghan Pardy was named to the 2013 CoSIDA (College Sports Information Director's of America) Academic All-District III Women's At-large team and is now eligible for the national All-American squad which will be selected later this month.

Pardy compiled a 4.00 GPA as a psychology major with a French minor, graduating last weekend. The Ontario, Canada native was ODU's 2013 recipient of the Jack Wilkins/James Howard Female Scholar Athlete of the Year award, as well as the ODU Alumni Association's MVP for rowing for the second consecutive season.

Pardy earned a C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for the 2012-13 academic year (cumulative G.P.A.: 3.75+). Maeghan has been a member of the Dean's List seven times throughout her college career.

Pardy contributed to the Lady Monarchs' 13 second victory in the Varsity 8 race against UNC to kick off the 2013 spring season which enabled her and her fellow seniors to end their career undefeated at home. Her boat then placed second in the Petite Final of the Varsity 8 race at the San Diego Crew Classic. Maeghan was part of the boat that won gold in the Third Final in the Varsity 8 by five seconds at the Knecht Cup. Two weekends ago, Pardy's Varsity 8 boat defeated SMU in Miami, Fla.

Pardy and her Lady Monarch teammates will be competing in Conference USA's Rowing Championships Saturday, May 18 at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
