Next Up for Rowing: Head of the Hooch

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University rowing team will be competing in the Head of the Hooch on Nov. 3-4 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Head of the Hooch Regatta is a 5,000 meter (3.1 mile) head race on the Tennessee River that is the second-largest rowing race in the country.
Last year at the Hooch, the Lady Monarch's Lightweight 4+ captured first place and took second in the Women's Open 8+.
Events are scheduled to run all day on Nov. 3 and 4 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Last weekend, ODU kicked off the fall season at the Head of the Schuylhill in Philadelphia, Pa. The Lady Monarchs captured the “Commodore Cup” after beating out the 26 other competing boats in the Frosh/Novice Eight race.
Old Dominion also finished in third and ninth in the Open Four race at Schuylhill. ODU had another top-10 finish when their ‘A’ boat placed eighth out of 27 boats in the Championship Eights race.
Old Dominion will close out their fall schedule in Charlottesville, Va. on Nov. 11 for the Rivanna Romp.
