TEXARKANA, Ark. - ODU's Ashton Newsom and Jamison Randall are tied for 27th after two rounds at the Conference USA Men's Golf Championships being held at the Texarkana Country Club.

As a team, the Monarchs are 12th with a 36 hole score of 599. Randall enjoyed ODU's best round with a 71 today, while Newsom fired 76 today.

Behind a stellar round of 65 from Houston sophomore Roman Robledo, the Cougars moved into a tie with first-round leader SMU at the 2013 C-USA Men's Golf Championship.

UCF fell to third place but remains even after two rounds with a 576. UAB was the only other team besides Houston to finish under par for the day and jumped to fourth place from eighth (296-286=582). Marshall took a stroke off its Sunday round and moved into fifth place with a 583.

Robledo's 65 was the lowest round carded (72-65=137) in the five seasons the conference championship has been held in Texarkana. He tallied seven birdies on the day, including the last two holes which he punctuated with a 40-foot put on 18. Robledo becomes only the 15th player in school history to score a 65 or better for the Cougars.

SMU freshman Bryson Dechambeau finished four-under for the second day in a row to take sole possession of the individual leaderboard with a 136. Juniors Curtis Reed of Houston and Grant Milner will enter the final 18 tied for third place with a four-under 140.

UAB, Marshall and sixth-place UTEP will start off of No. 1, and then followed by Houston, SMU and UCF at 8:50 a.m. East Carolina, Rice and affiliate member Old Dominion will start on No. 10 at 8 a.m., while Tulsa, Memphis and Southern Miss will tee off No. 10 beginning at 8:50 a.m. CDT.
