ODU'S Deztany Jackson WINS INDEPENDENT TITLE AT THE 20TH ANNUAL MINORITY COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIP

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL--Old Dominion University women's freshman golfer Deztany Jackson (Ft. Washington, MD.) captured the Women's Independent Division Championship at the 2006 PGA National Minority Collegiate Golf Championship.

Jackson carded a total of 97-84-91 for 272, defeating Ryen Williams of Alabama A&M University. Overall, her score was 11th best in the field. Approximately 125 contestants from 28 colleges and universities, representing 14 countries comprised the field.
