Plisco Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

DALLAS, Texas - Old Dominion University punter Jonathan Plisco was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced on Friday. A total of 703 players from 259 schools spanning FBS, FCS, Division II, III and NAIA.

ODU's first three-time All-American, Jonathan Plisco finished fifth in the nation in punting average at 45.0 yards per punt in 2012. He set the FCS career punting average record with a 45.1 yard average. He completed the year with eight punts inside the 20 and eight punts over 50 yards. He earned first-team All-CAA honors and three All-America accolades, including first-team honors from Phil Steele and College Sports Journal. He finished his four-year career with 12 All-America distinctions.

A two-time CAA-Academic All-Conference honoree, Plisco was named to the ADA Academic All-Star team as a senior. He graduated in December with a 3.55 grade point average in finance.

To qualify for the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, a player must meet the following qualifications:
· Be a starter or a significant substitute in one's last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, or an NAIA college or university;
· Achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study;
· Meeting all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements and graduation.
