Eric Onesi Finishes Second At CAA Championships

MOUNTAIN VIEW, GA-- Old Dominion University junior golfer Eric Onesi (Bear, DE.) shot a 68 today to finish at 213 (3 under par), just two shots behind the winner Allen John of Georgia State at the CAA Men's Golf Championships at the Callaway Gardens in Mountain View, Ga.

As a team, ODU tied for fourth with UNC Wilmington and James Madison. The Monarchs shot a tournament best 287 today to finish with a 54-hole score of 891.

VCU won the championship in a playoff against Georgia State. Both finished at 877 for the tournament.

Onesi, a three-time All-CAA selection shot 74 on Friday, 71 Saturday and 68 today to creep to within two shots of Allen. Onesi was also named to the All-Tournament squad. ODU freshman Neil Henderson shot 72 today to finish at 222 and tied for seventh place, while senior Jeffrey Long tied for 22nd after shooting 72 for a three-day score of 228.
