Soccer Monarchs Defeat Georgetown 2-1 For 5th Straight

WASHINGTON, DC. -- Sophomore Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) assisted on two goals to lead the Monarchs of Old Dominion University to a 2-1 victory over Georgetown Tuesday afternoon. The Monarchs have now won five straight to improve their record to 5-3, while the Hoyas are now 4-4-1.
Freshman Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica) scored the first goal 1in the first 14 minutes of the match on an assist from Vendegh. Early in the second half, Michael Tooley (Richmond, Va.), the CAA Player of the Week put the Monarchs up 2-0 on Vendegh's second assist of the game. Nate Port scored the Hoyas lone goal nine minutes later.
Vendegh, the leading scorer in the CAA and the South Atlantic Region has ten goals, four assists for 24 points in eight matches. The Monarchs, who are now 2-0 against the BIG EAST host William and Mary Saturday night at 7 p.m.
