Monarchs Golfers Take Second at Golden Horseshoe Invational

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. (March 28, 2000) -- The Monarchs of Old Dominion placed second in the rain shortened Golden Horseshoe Colonial Invitational March 28, losing by a stroke to Temple. Leading the way for the Monarchs were Steve Sokol (Oxford, Ct.) who shot a 71 for fifth, two shots shy of tournament winner Eli Zackheim of Colgate. Michael Hospodar (Ontario, Canada) placed ninth with a 72. This is the Monarchs fourth top ten finish in five Spring events thus far. Old Dominion competes in the Furman Intercollegiate on April 8-9.
