WILLIAMSBURG, VA-- ODU junior Laura Holmes (Ballina CO. Mayo, Ireland) and senior Alexis Garduno (Sacramento, CA>) are tied for 33rd after the first round of the William and Mary First Market Bank Intercollegiate.

Holmes shot a team best 37 on the back nine for her first round score of 80. Garduno shot a 41 in the front and 39 on the back. Freshman Kristen Hagan (Charlotte, NC) is 51st after shooting an 82. The Lady Monarchs finished at 325 for 10th place.

The University of Alabama finished the day at 306 and leads the event by five strokes over Penn State.

The final round is Sunday.
