Norfolk, Va. - Old Dominion University's Nadine Fahoum has been listed among the top collegiate tennis players in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) which released its preseason rankings earlier this week.
Fahoum enters her sophomore season ranked 100th overall after turning in an outstanding freshman campaign. A native of Haifa, Israel, she was named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Year, was first team All-CAA in doubles and second team in singles where she posted a mark of 20-2 after joining the team in the spring. Playing primarily at No. 2 where she was 11-1, Fahoum opened with an 11-match winning streak and closed out the year with five consecutive victories. In addition, 16 of her 20 victories came in straight sets and she was 4-1 versus opponents from the CAA.
The Lady Monarchs open the fall season at the William & Mary Invitational on Sept. 19-21 in Williamsburg.
