Wrestling Heads to Pennsylvania to Compete in Wrestling for a Cure Duals

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Old Dominion University wrestling team returns to the mat this weekend as they travel to the Pennsylvania Farm Show and Complex Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pa. for the second annual Wrestle for a Cure Duals on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The Monarchs (1-0) are set to face Buffalo (0-0) at 9:00 a.m., No. 13 Ohio State (0-0) at 1:00 p.m. and Cleveland State (0-0) at 5:00 p.m.

ODU started the season with a 31-9 victory at Chattanooga, the defending Southern Conference champions, on Nov. 4. Two days later, eighth-ranked senior Te Edwards won the 174-pound weight class at the Hokie Open in Salem, Va. Fellow senior Joe Budi was the 197-pound champion.

Buffalo featured one champion in John-Martin Cannon at 174 pounds and seven placers at the University of Buffalo Open last weekend. Ohio State captured five titles at the Eastern Michigan Open on Nov. 5 as Logan Stieber (133), Hunter Stieber (141), Josh Demas (157), Nick Heflin (174) and Nyle Bartling (197) all won their respective weight classes. Also competing at the EMU Open was Cleveland State who featured three wrestlers that took home fourth place.
