Freshman Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO) scored his second career goal in double overtime to lead the Old Dominion University men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Drexel in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) match on Saturday night at the ODU Soccer Stadium.

Cvilikas put in the golden goal at the 106:41 mark when Kyle Hartley (Va. Beach, VA) fired a cross from the right side to him as he flew down the left flank and netted the winning shot.

For the second night in a row Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) found the back of the net two times. He scored the lone goal of the first half as ODU would hold a 1-0 halftime lead. Vendegh also scored the first tally of the second period to put the Monarchs up 2-0.

However, after getting off only two shots in the first half, the Dragons came storming back in the next period. Dan Zajac led the comeback charge with both Drexel goals when he scored at 65:37 and again at 83:41.

The game would remain scoreless the rest of regulation and throughout a period and a half of overtime before the Monarchs took the victory. ODU has now won four of the five contests that have gone into extra frames.

The Monarchs are home this Wednesday to face James Madison in a game that was rescheduled from October 13th. ODU will celebrate Senior Night as this is the last Monarch regular season home game this year.
