Women's Lacrosse Downs Drexel, 13-4

PHILADELPHIA - Junior Danielle Hensil netted four goals to lead Old Dominion to a 13-4 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Drexel University at Drexel Field in Philadelphia. With the loss the Dragons fall to 4-7 overall and 0-6 in conference play while the Monarchs improve to 11-4 on the season and 5-2 in the CAA.

Suzanne Wosczyna scored two of her three goals in the first 13 minutes of play as the Monarchs jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Drexel got on the board at 13:58 with a goal by Katrina Rand (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township), but Old Dominion went on to score six more first half goals to take a 10-1 halftime lead.

In the second half, Drexel and Old Dominion scored three goals apiece as the Monarchs claimed the 13-4 victory.

Laurie Bean (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford), Jamie Kosmaczewski (Sewell, N.J./Camden Catholic) and Jaime Connahan (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) all netted second-half goals for the Dragons.

Wosczyna and Jennifer Heister had three goals and one assist apiece for the Monarchs while Melody Shotwell tallied one goal and one assist on the afternoon.
