Cahana Loses NCAA Second Round Tennis Match

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA. - Old Dominion University freshman Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Isreal) lost her second round match-up to WAC Player of Year Liesl Fichtbauer of Fresno State, 6-4,6-3 at the NCAA Individual Championships held at Lincoln Tennis Center.

Cahana, the ITA's National Player to Watch, collected an impressive 46-4 record this season, setting a school record for most singles wins. She finished the dual match season with a perfect 23-0 record and captured the Colonial Athletic Association's Player and Rookie of the Year honors en route to a #5 national ranking.

Cahana won her NCAA first round match with a 6-4,3-6, 6-2 decision over Katja Kovac of Baylor. She helped lead the Lady Monarchs to a 21-2 dual record, their first CAA Team Championship and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
