ODU Golf in 13th Place After Day One at NCAA's

The Old Dominion men's golf team finished their first round of competition in 13th place at the 2003 NCAA Tournament hosted by the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, WA. Chris Piercy led the team with an even 72 which puts him tied for the lead in the individual rankings.
As a team the Monarchs shot a 14-over 302. Due to inclement weather play was suspended at least two times on day one with several teams not being able to complete their first day rounds. Rounds that were not completed on Thursday will be made up starting on Friday morning.
Second on the team is Nick Kenney with a three-over 75 while Geoff Harris, the 2003 Colonial Athletic Association Individual Champion, shot a 77, five over par. Rounding out the team is Chris Kline, six-over 78, and Greg Sampson, eight-over 80.
The University of Denver has the best score of the teams that have finished round one with a seven-over 295. This is a three-day tournament with the top ten teams advancing to the NCAA Championships.
