NORFOLK, VA -- Old Dominion's wrestling squad will host the annual Old Dominion Quadrangular on Sunday (Jan. 9) at 12 pm at the ODU Fieldhouse. The Monarchs will welcome Duke, Seton Hall and Virginia Military Institute in the four team round-robin format.

The quadrangular will be the first dual matches for the Monarchs this season, after finishing 8-10 overall last season. The wrestling meet will also feature a premier match-up between VMI's Matt Erwin and Old Dominion's Jeff Rusak (Reading, PA) in the 165-pound class.

Erwin is ranked #13 in the country by Intermat and #20 by Amateur Wrestling News at 165, while Rusak is ranked #18 by Intermat and #19 by Amateur Wrestling News. Erwin brings in an 8-4 overall record and recently recorded three victories in the Midlands Championships, one of the toughest tournaments in the nation.

Rusak brings in a 19-2 record on the year, including ten pins, and recently captured the 165-pound title at the prestigious Wilkes Open tournament. In addition, Rusak has never lost a dual bout in his career, finishing 18-0 last season.

Action begins at 12 pm and will last throughout the afternoon. VMI and Old Dominion will square off first, while Duke takes on Seton Hall. In the second set of matches, Duke will battle ODU, while Seton Hall takes on VMI. In the final matches, the Monarchs will host Seton Hall, while Duke and VMI battle.
