Harris Ranked Second Nationally

NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University junior golfer Geoffrey Harris (Reading, England) currently ranks second nationally by the NCAA Golfstat standings with a 70.0 scoring average. He trails only D.J. Trahan of Clemson who has a 69.78 average.

During the fall season Harris was the Monarchs top golfer in the four tournaments he competed in. He tied for first at Mid Pines, losing in a one hole play- off. He took second at the Carolina First (Florence, SC.) tournament, the River Landing (Wilmington, NC. ) tournament, and the Monarchs own ODU/Seascape Collegiate in Kitty Hawk, NC.

In ten rounds, Harris registered atleast one round in every tournament of 69 or lower. At Mid Pines course in Pinehurst, he had rounds of 68-66-72.

Senior Michael Hospodar (Ontario, Canada) ranks 102nd with a 72.08 stroke average. His best outing was third place at the Chattanooga Invitational.

The Monarchs return to action in the spring on Feb. 18-19 at the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fl. As a team, the Monarchs ranked 13th in the District.
