Dan Hudson one of Two locals Helping the Diamondbacks

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Quite the East Coast homecoming last week for Justin Upton and Daniel Hudson. They felt the earth shiver and shake. Then the local prodigies helped the Arizona Diamondbacks rock and roll closer to the NL West title.

Upton, the strapping right fielder out of Chesapeake's Great Bridge High, turned 24 on Thursday as a consensus Most Valuable Player candidate. The night before, Virginia Beach's Hudson, a right-handed pitcher, turned in one of the best games of his first full season, blanking the Washington Nationals into the ninth inning of a 4-2 victory.
