Washington, DC (Oct. 14) - Freshman Arne Hohenstein (Recklinghausen, Germany) scored on a header in the 100th minute of play to lift Old Dominion past American, 3-2, on Oct. 14. With the win, the Monarchs improve to 7-4-1, 5-0 CAA. The Eagles drop to 4-7-1, 1-2-1 CAA.

Old Dominion jumped out to a quick 2-0 first half lead on a pair of Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) goals, but American stormed back to tie the game with two second-half goals of their own. With just over ten minutes gone in overtime, senior Martin Crowley (Liverpool, England) served up a corner kick which Hohenstein converted for the game winning goal.
