NORFOLK, VA  -The four-member Old Dominion wrestling early recruiting class is ranked #12, according to WIN Magazine.  Colonial Athletic Association rival Hofstra's class is ranked #7, while potential in-state rival Virginia Tech has the #2 class.  This past weekend, Redshirt Sophomore Christian Staylor (Chesapeake, VA/Great Bridge/125) defeated his brother Justin, of Virginia Tech, by a 9-0 major decision.  Christian Staylor, with a second place finish at the Irwin-Carolina Open, moved up to #9 in the NWCA rankings this week.

"Across the state of Virginia, [Steve] Martin, whose Chesapeake Great Bridge High teams were perennial Class 3A champions and national title contenders, has translated his boundless energy into recruiting success with four top recruits led by potential four-time state champion Bryan Lashomb (125)," WIN Magazine's Rob Sherrill wrote.  "Now at Great Bridge, LaShomb won three North Carolina state titles under the tutelage of one of Martin's former Great Bridge wrestlers, David Hall."

Bryan LaShomb, the recruit at 125 pounds, is ranked 8th nationally by WIN Magazine at 119 pounds, while fellow Great Bridge wrestler, Chris Brown, who will come in at 157 pounds, is ranked 12th at 152 pounds.  Ben Fiacco, who will wrestle at 165 pounds, is ranked 13th nationally at 152 pounds, wrestling at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, GA.  Jeff Becker, a senior at Slippery Rock High School in Slippery Rock, PA, comes in at 141 pounds.
