ODU Honors 80th Season of Baseball

In March of 1931, teh Norfolk Division of the College of William and mary defeated Deep Creek High School, 8-3. ODU Sports Hall of Famer and the late Rufus Tonelson picked up the win.
The team waas coached by the late Tom Scott, a member of the ODU, VMI and Virginia Sports Halls of Fame. The Braves went on to record a 7-6 record that season.
On Feb. 18th the ODU athletic department honored the 80th season of baseball at the University as Steve Tonelson, professor of special education, and son of the late Rufus Tonelson threw out the first pitch at ODU's home opener, assisted by ODU President John R. Broderick, catching at home plate.
