Jon Sioredas
Position: Assistant Coach
Experience: 6 Years


Coach Sioredas is in his sixth year at Old Dominion University. The Monarchs crowned their fourth All-American in the past four years, including an NCAA National Finalist in 2009.

The Blue and Silver have been ranked in the Top 25 for three of the past four years. Old Dominion also does extremely well academically. They just earned their 10th Academic All-American in the past five years and finished the 2010-11 academic year ranked Top 5 in the country for team GPA, above teams as Princeton, Cornell, and Duke. ODU also pulled in the nations seventh best 2011 recruiting class.

Sioredas is no stranger to success. After spending three years at the University of Missouri, Sioredas transferred to wrestle for NCAA and World Champion Terry Brands at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. With only two years under the helm of Coach Brands, Sioredas moved from a Top 20 athlete to being ranked second in the country.

Sioredas was's national Wrestler of the Week for defeating Oklahoma State's national champion Johny Hendricks. Sioredas was a two-time conference champion, wrestler of the year, outstanding wrestler and finished his senior season with All-American status by taking fifth place at 165 pounds in the 2005 NCAA Division I Tournament. He also excelled in the classroom, being named to the National Deans List.

A 2000 Great Bridge High School graduate, Sioredas was a Virginia state champion, All-American and National Champion. He amassed a 181-13 career record, becoming the fourth winningest wrestler in Virginia High School history.

Sioredas serves as a featured clinician at camps and clinics across the country. He earned his Master's in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in 2009 and his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2005. Sioredas resides in Chesapeake with his wife, Michele, their son, Braden, and their two dogs, Chopper and Delilah.
