Lacrosse Alumni Game Set for September 22

Game will take place at 1 p.m. at the Powhatan Sports Complex followed by a tailgate before ODU's home football game vs. New Hampshire

Former ODU standout Melody Shotwell is in her second season as an assistant coach for the lacrosse team.

Shotwell played for the Lady Monarchs from 2002-06 and ranks ninth in school history with 124 points and 98 career goals.

A native of Fairfax Station, Va., Shotwell graduated from ODU majoring in fashion merchandising and minored in marketing and studio art.

Shotwell taught Business and Sports Marketing the last two years at Mountain View High School in Stafford, Va. She was the varsity lacrosse and field hockey coach at Gar-Field High School in Prince William County. She also coached the JV field hockey team at Mountain View for one year. Shotwell led the Gar-Field lacrosse team to the program's first-ever win. She was named Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading the team to an 8-4 record.
