NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Head Football Coach Bobby Wilder announced on Thursday that Donnie Fields, a 6-2, 280 pound defensive lineman, will join the Monarch football program for the 2013 season.
"We are all excited to welcome Donnie Fields into our football family. Donnie recently visited Old Dominion and made a great impression on our coaching staff. We see Donnie competing for playing time at defensive tackle this year. He will join our family for summer school and I anticipate he will get off to a great start with his academic career," says ODU head football coach Bobby Wilder.
Fields was a two-year starter on the defensive line at Citrus College (CA) in 2011 and 2012, recording 20 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception in 2011 and 15 tackles, a sack and two fumble recoveries in 2012.
A native of Arcadia, Calif., Fields played two seasons of high school football for Arcadia HS, earning first-team All-Pacific League honors and first-team All-Conference accolades from the Pasadena Star.
