ODUSports.com Q&A with Blair Roberts - Wide Receiver - Rochester, N.Y.
What got you into football? A friend of mine told me about it, and I was introduced to it. I never really had an interest in it until I started playing, I didn’t start playing until I was a junior in high school.
When did you realize you could go to the next level? When I first started it was just something to do until basketball started. After my junior year I started to hear from colleges and started talking to coaches.
Why Old Dominion? Coach Whitcomb was a big reason for me. Also, when I visited the atmosphere here was crazy. Coach Wilder is a great coach and he stays on top of you and that was defiantely a reason I picked ODU.
Talk about the weather difference between Rochester and Hampton Roads? You don’t have to play in the snow for one. It ss always sunny, it might rain a little but it’s still sunny.
Why No. 8? I started off at No. 80, but as I progressed they gave me No. 8. I’m just grateful to have a number.
Whats on your iPod? Chief Keef, Nipsey Hussle, Jay-Z, Meek Mill
Favorite sport other than football? Basketball
Favorite sports team? New England Patriots
Favorite Athlete? Kevin Durant
Favorite Food? Fried Chicken and spaghetti
What are you most excited about the move to Conference USA and FBS? The competition. I think we’re going to be prepared, everyone is working hard. I think we’re going to come together as a family and play hard.
With such a deep group of receivers, what is the competition like? We push each other to the max. We want everyone to run the best routes and to succeed as a group.
What is your major? Criminal Justice
