Women's Soccer Falls At George Mason, 3-0

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Old Dominion University women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to George Mason on Saturday night. George Mason improves to 2-3-1; the Lady Monarchs drop to 0-6-0.

In the 21st minute of action, Mason was able to start off the scoring when Brenna Connell crossed the ball and found Kelly Pizzingrilli, who was able poke the ball into the net. The Patriots would take that 1-0 lead into halftime.

At the halftime, Old Dominion led the shot count 6-4 and also attempted four corners compared to Mason’s two.

It was George Mason who scored first in the second half, when Danielle O’Brien served Paige Babel’s free kick into the box and found Liz Hodges’ for her second score of the season.

Mason added a third and final goal in the 79th minute, when Jazmin Cardoso set up Karina Irizarry for her first goal off the season.

Old Dominion will be back in action on Sunday, September 22, when they will play host to Penn at 1 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.
