RADIO/TV: The Monarchs radio broadcasts are on ESPN 94.1 in Hampton Roads; WZEZ 100.5 in Richmond and WBRG 104.5 FM & 1050 AM in Lynchburg, Va. Play-by-Play announcer is Ted Alexander. Billy Mann will serve as color analyst for all home games. Dave Twardzik will be a contributor to Monarch Courtside pre-game show at home games and color commentary for all road games. Rick Kiefner will host the Monarch Courtside program at home.

Tonight’s game will be televised back to on NBC Sports Network channel 39 in Hampton Roads. The play-by-play announcer is Mike Corey and the color analyst is Blaine Fowler.

SERIES VS. RICHMOND: ODU leads the series, 29-24. The Spiders have won the last two meetings, including last year’s 80-53 decision in Norfolk.  ODU last defeated Richmond in the Robins Center in 1997,  76-69.

LAST GAME The Monarchs defeated former CAA rival UNC Wilmington, 69-57 Saturday afternoon as Richard Ross led with 17 points and 10 rebounds, followed by 16 from Keenan Palmore and 10 from freshman Jordan Baker. ODU shot .500 from the field and outrebounded the Seahawks, 36-32 to end a six-game losing streak.  

THIS DAY IN ODU HISTORY :Dec. 28, 1991 – Down 16 to arch rival VCU, 47-31 with 16:39 left, ODU rallies to win, 67-66 in the Richmond Times Dispatch tournament finals. Ricardo Leonard led with 28 points and eight rebounds followed by Mike Jones with 17 points.

MEET THE MONARCH BREAKFAST

The dates for the annual Old Dominion Athletic Foundation Breakfasts featuring the Monarchs have been set, beginning Jan. 10, Jan. 22 and Feb. 5. All three breakfasts will be held in the Big Blue Room of the Ted Constant Convocation Center from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Donaton is $5 at the door.
