About the Owls
Charlie Partridge takes over for the Owls after spending a year on the staff at Arkansas. He spent five years as an assistant at Wisconsin and prior to that was at Pittsburgh for five years.
Jacquez Johnson was the 2013 C-USA Newcomer of the Year as a dual-threat quarterback. He led the team in rushing carrying 172 times for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns and completed 149-of-256 passes for 1,876 yards and 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
William Dukes is the Owls’ leading returning receiver with 35 receptions for 553 yards and six touchdowns.
Andrae Kirk led the team with 84 tackles while Brandin Bryant was second on the team with 51 stops, 6.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. Defensive back D’Joun Smith finished tied for second in the country with seven interceptions.
In the NFL
Running back Alfred Morris was a seventh round pick of the Washington Redskins in the 2012 NFL Draft and went on to rush for 1,613 yards as a rookie. Morris rushed for 1,275 yards in 2013.
The regular season finale takes place at FAU Stadium, built in 2011 and holds just under 30,000. It is the only stadium in the country with a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
