NORFOLK, Va.- ODU Sports would like to encourage YOU to VOTE TODAY for Tristan Warner as the Elite 89 student-athlete of the year. Warner won this prestigious honor in March at the 2014 NCAA Division I Championships and now he needs your help. He is competing against the other 88 Elite 89 Award winners to be crowned the top student-athlete of the year for all three NCAA Divisions, male or female.

The Elite 89 Award
The Elite 89 Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 89 Championships at the Division I, II and III level.
Tristan finished the 2013-14 season with a 19-13 record, while earning his second bid to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships as a redshirt-junior. Warner placed second at the Wolfpack Open and defeated No. 17-ranked Luke Smith (CMU) and No. 19-ranked Brandon Zeerip at the MAC Championships.
The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania-native is Old Dominion University's first ever recipient of the Elite 89 Award, as he had the highest GPA of any wrestlers in the NCAA Championships. He is a double major in Communications and Criminal Justice and currently holds a 3.98 GPA.
