MACON, Ga. -- Katerina Vlasinova finished in third place out of 85 golfers in the field at the Brickyard Collegiate hosted by Mercer University Tuesday. As a team, the Monarchs finished in seventh out of 15 teams.

No. 9 Furman brought home the team title, while No. 21 Texas A&M and No. 42 Augusta finished in a tie for second place. The Monarchs took seventh and finished one stroke ahead of Troy, a team ODU was narrowly defeated by in match play just days ago at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. No. 59 ODU also finished two slots ahead of 56th-ranked Maryland.

Vlasinova, who entered the third and final round of the tournament this morning in a tie for second place, fired a one-under 71 to finish (E) in a tie for third place with Hannah Mae Deems from Mercer. Maggie Simmermacher and Sana Tufail tied with one another for 31st.

Old Dominion registered the third-highest birdie total for the tournament with 34 and maintained the fifth-best par five scoring average (3.17).

Vlasinova sunk 12 birdies, which tied for the second-most of all 85 golfers.

The Monarchs get underway at the 2017 Conference USA Championships from the Verandah Club in Fort Myers, Florida next Monday from April 17-19.
