NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (6-6-3, 3-3-1 C-USA) took down UAB (7-6-1, 4-3-0 C-USA) by a 1-0 score on Sunday afternoon at the ODU Soccer Complex. Sunday marked the fourth straight shutout for Old Dominion’s defense, as the Monarchs have not allowed a goal in their last 412 minutes of action. ODU outshot the Blazers 16-3.

After a scoreless first half, the Monarchs dominated the shot count in the opening 45 minutes 10-1.

In the 49th minute, Deirdre Bradley gave Old Dominion a 1-0 lead after cleaning up a UAB save, which came off a Natalie Johnson header. The goal was the second of the season for Bradley, while the assist was a team-leading seventh of the season for Johnson.

Sunday marked the fourth consecutive shutout for Old Dominion freshman goalkeeper Jasmine Crawley.

The Monarchs wore pink warm-ups before Sunday’s contest in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer.

ODU’s last loss came on Sept. 28th.

Old Dominion will head to Texas next week for a pair of league matches on the road. On Thursday, Oct. 18, the Monarchs will take on UTSA in San Antonio, before traveling to El Paso for Sunday, Oct. 21 showdown against UTEP.
