NORFOLK, Va. -- Behind a season-best shooting performance, the Old Dominion women's basketball team dominated Coppin State, 81-51, on Saturday afternoon at the Ted Constant Center.

Old Dominion (9-3) shot a season-high 53 percent from the field and 44 percent from three. The 30-point victory was ODU's most lop-sided win since the Monarchs defeated NC Central by 31 in 2016. Defensively, ODU held Coppin State (0-12) to 27 percent shooting.

Ajah Wayne led four Monarchs in double figures with 13 points. Mariah Adams had 11 points, five assists and three blocks, while Maggie Robinson added 12 points and Taylor Edwards had 11 points.

"We found a way to open up the game, as far as it being a 30-point game but it didn't feel like that. We went with a little bit more cutting and we moved the ball and we were able to find some gaps. " - Coach McCray

ODU had a +18 advantage on the glass that translated into a 38-16 edge for the Monarchs in points in the paint.

With nine wins, Old Dominion has already eclipsed its win total from all of last season.

Up next, ODU begins Conference USA play with a road trip to Marshall and Western Kentucky next weekend.
