GREENVILLE, S.C. - A final round 285 (-3) from the Old Dominion women's golf team propelled the Monarchs to a fourth place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman. ODU posted the second-best team score in the field on Sunday afternoon.

"We knew starting the year at Furman would be tough. It's a notoriously difficult golf course," said head coach Mallory Hetzel. "We were so close the first two rounds to shooting some good scores. The team dug deep today and played one of the best rounds in program history. We showed a lot of heart and it's a great way to get ready for the Princess Anne Invitational."

ODU opened the tournament with a 301 (+13) and a 305 (+17) second round. The Monarchs went into the final round sitting in 9th place.

Sophomore Jana Melichova led the Monarchs with a finished for second place. The result was her second runner-up finish and fourth top-10.
