ODU Rowing Completes Successful Fall Season at Rivanna Romp

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Old Dominion University rowing team finished their fall schedule with three boats featured in two events at the 2013 Rivanna Romp.

ODU completed the day with a ninth place finish in the Varsity 8 event and a 13th place finish out of 28 boats in the Varsity 4 event. Old Dominion competed against five other institutions including: Virginia, Louisville, Penn, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

In the Varsity 8 event the Lady Monarchs finished 9th, 11th and 17th out of 17 boats. ODU’s “A” boat finished 9th with a time of 14:17.0. ODU was led by coxswain Lydia Cleveland with Paige Madision at stroke, Raven Howser at 7, Erin O’Connell at 6, Kennedy Stafford at 5, Kara Stephan at 4, Jenna Sterling at 3, Missy Fruetel at 2 and Keira Flanagan at bow.

ODU’s “B” boat completed the course with a time of 14:43.0 and finished 11th. The team was led by coxswain Nicole Sicurella with Colleen Rennie at stroke, Kelsea Shiner at 7, Ashley Nardiello at 6, Chelsea Trice at 5, Jessica Donlan at 4, Carlie Cohen at 3, Miranda Brown at 2 and Shannon La Sala at bow.

Old Dominion’s “C” boat finished the Varsity 8 course with a time of 15:28.0. ODU was led by coxswain Diana Howat with Lauren Wright at stroke, Kaela Woods at 7, Emily Hughes at 6, Leslie Lomax at 5, Ashley Mauroff at 4, Katarina Bauer at 3, Jackie Donlan at 2 and Raven Woody at bow.

The Varsity 4 event began at 10:30 Sunday morning and ODU finished 13th, 18th and 25th out of 28 boats. ODU’s “B” boat finished 13th with a time of 16:03.0. The Lady Monarchs were led by coxswain Nicole Sicurella with Kennedy Stafford at stroke, Erin O’Connell at 3, Jenna Sterling at 2 and Missy Fruetel at bow.

ODU’s “A” boat finished 18th and was led by coxswain Lydia Cleveland with Raven Howser at stroke, Kara Stephan at 3, Keira Flanagan at 2 and Paige Madison at bow. The team finished with a time of 16:17.0.

The Lady Monarchs “C” boat completed the race with a time of 16:54.0. The team was led by coxswain Diana Howat with Colleen Rennie at stroke, Kelsea Shiner at 3, Jessica Donlan at 2 and Chelsea Trice at bow.
