Monarchs Fall To Tribe, 4-1, In CAA Semifinals

RICHMOND, VA -- The third seeded Old Dominion men's tennis team was defeated by second seeded William & Mary, 4-1, in the CAA Tournament Semifinals at Byrd Park this afternoon. The Monarchs received a singles victory by junior Niklas Oskarsson (Halmsted, Sweden) and a doubles win by sophomore Izak van der Merwe (Kempton Park, South Africa) and senior Patrik Binkowski (Orby, Sweden).

Oskarsson captured the Monarchs lone singles win with a 7-5, 6-2 win over the Tribe's Stephan Ward at No. 5 singles. Although William & Mary took home the doubles points, ODU's team of Binkowski and van der Merwe played to a 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles defeating Geoff Russell and Alex Fish.
