Jen Parsons scored two first half goals for Virginia Commonwealth (11-1-1/4-0-1) to lead them to a 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) victory over the Old Dominion women's soccer team on Friday night.
Parsons found the next twice before the 26th minute and Chrissy Lloyd made three saves not allowing ODU to climb back. Genevieve Tremblay provided assists for Parsons on both her goals as she continues to lead the CAA in scoring.
Freshman Meredith Worsley (Jordan, NC) put it a late tally for the Lady Monarchs (2-7-1/0-2-1) when Lloyd didn't clear a ball out of the zone. But that was all the offense ODU could muster in a rain-soaked game. Kristen Bailey (Hamilton, VA) made five saves in goal as she kept VCU off the scoreboard in the second half.
ODU will next travel to UNC-Wilmington on Sunday for another CAA contest at 3:00 p.m.
