NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University football has added two home games to its 2013 schedule as the Monarchs will host Howard and Liberty next season at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. The Monarchs will host Howard on Sept. 14 and Liberty on Oct. 5.

"These two crucial home football games now guarantee our team and our fans at least five home dates for 2012 - against some very intriguing opponents," ODU Athletic Director Dr. Wood Selig said. "Now we have five home games and five away games. Bruce Stewart has worked miracles to put our program in this enviable scheduling position. ODU football fans will be in for a treat, both home and on the road, for the 2012 season."

With the additions of Howard and Liberty, the Monarchs now have 10 games in place for the 2013 season. ODU will open the season at FBS foe East Carolina and travel the following week to College Park to play the University of Maryland.

The Monarchs will host Howard the following week, The Citadel on Sept. 21, and Liberty on Oct. 5. Old Dominion goes back on the road, traveling to North Carolina on Oct. 12 and at Norfolk State on Oct. 26 before hosting Rhode Island Nov. 2. ODU finishes the road section of the schedule at Idaho on Nov. 9 and finish the season in Norfolk Nov. 16 against Charlotte.

"We are excited to welcome both Liberty and Howard to Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium in 2013. Liberty finished in a tie for first in the Big South and Howard was second in the MEAC in 2012," ODU Head Coach Bobby Wilder said. "Both programs add quality games to our schedule and both teams should be strong again next year based on their returning starters."

Howard went 7-4 this season and finished in second place in the MEAC.

Liberty ended the year with a 6-5 record and finished in a three-way tie for first place in the Big South.
